Bluebird of Happiness
I am so excited about this project. Yes, there are a lot of pieces and yes, it’s going to take you a while to sew all of the pieces. But, while sewing you will learn a lot. You will learn how to make perfect points, perfect circles, perfect ovals, smooth curves, smooth stems, some hand embroidery and just for added fun…..a little reverse appliqué.
The inside appliqué area is 14”x 14”. With the additional black border area the piece finishes 20” x 20”
Please use the Upper-level entrance.

In this 1 day, class students will begin work on a Travel Journal quilt. We will paint the map, the main focal point of the quilt, then combine maps, photos, journaling, and other saved items into a unique, personal wall hanging. Students will need to bring along photos and postcards printed onto fabric to use in the layout of the quilt. I will demonstrate making a simple raw edge fabric collage element to use. As it is a 1-day class I run through the project and get students started and on their way to completing this project at home.
Fee: $40, Materials Fee: $5

Learn the basics of English Paper Piecing, but go home with a project that is uniquely yours. We’ll be working with shapes based on equilateral triangles: hexagons, diamonds, jewels, kites, etc. Learn about the terminology and supplies specific to EPP. We can even play a bit with fussy cutting.
Suitable for beginners, but will challenge experienced EPP-ers. This is a hand stitching workshop- no machines!
