Painting with Tsukineko Inks: Come learn how to paint with inks to add a beautiful image to your quilts. Wonderful for portraits, animals, florals and many other images, fabric inks offer an array of colors from vivid to subtle. The kit will include freezer paper backed fabric with an image outline, a wide array of inks, and ink sticks. You can choose from outlines of a humming bird, sea turtle or tropical fish or you can bring your own outline drawing and transfer it to fabric (light boxes will be provided). We will talk about layering colors, working with inks, and fabric preparation. This class is easy enough for a beginner and yet can be the basis for a beautiful art quilt.
Supplies: Bring a light box if you have one. A supply kit can be purchased at the workshop for $15.00.
Floral Sheers: In this workshop you will use a provided pattern to paint a gorgeous flower with lumineer paint, on parchment paper. That will be fused to organza and then applied to batting for a stunning wall quilt.
Supply List: Black Sharpie “stained” marker is needed (and assorted colors if desired). Do not make yourself crazy looking for one, Esterita will have them for sale along with colored “stained” markers that are now her favorites for fabric.
