In this 1 day, class students will begin work on a Travel Journal quilt. We will paint the map, the main focal point of the quilt, then combine maps, photos, journaling, and other saved items into a unique, personal wall hanging. Students will need to bring along photos and postcards printed onto fabric to use in the layout of the quilt. I will demonstrate making a simple raw edge fabric collage element to use. As it is a 1-day class I run through the project and get students started and on their way to completing this project at home.

Have Your Cake and Sew It Too
Do you have a layer cake stack you just had to have but now have no idea what to do with it? Then this is the class for you! We will demonstrate piecing and pressing techniques that will help to get those pesky points to match up and all your seams to lie flat for ease of construction for this lap quilt. Don’t have a layer cake stack hanging around? This pattern works with fat quarters as well. As in all our classes, participation in class shenanigans is mandatory.
