Living A Creative Life – Jane Haworth

11/21/2019

In this lecture/trunk show Jane will describe how she became the quilt maker she is today and describe the influences and techniques that she uses. She will talk about setting up an Etsy shop and how she uses this for her T-shirt quilt business. Jane will also describe some of the challenging requests she receives from clients and how trying something new brings out her creative spirit. Jane’s goal is to inspire quilters to go out of their comfort zone and just have fun creating.

Have fun working on a one-of-a-kind portrait of your pet. Learn this addictive raw edge fabric collage technique whilst creating a one-o- a-kind animal wall hanging.  In this 1-day class using no fusible, layer, trace, cut and glue fabrics in a fun, no mistakes way. Join Jane to learn about making the best fabric chooses, how to use values to enhance your portrait and then get tips for free motion quilting. The class uses a 200% photo enlargement to work on as your pattern.

Travel Journal Quilts

11/22/2019

In this 1 day, class students will begin work on a Travel Journal quilt. We will paint the map, the main focal point of the quilt, then combine maps, photos, journaling, and other saved items into a unique, personal wall hanging. Students will need to bring along photos and postcards printed onto fabric to use in the layout of the quilt. I will demonstrate making a simple raw edge fabric collage element to use. As it is a 1-day class I run through the project and get students started and on their way to completing this project at home.

Using my “No More Tears”© Foundation Piecing Method
Are you curious about paper piecing? Do you and paper piecing already have a love/hate relationship? Do you love the accuracy you achieve, but hate the process of getting there? Well, this class will change that to a LOVE relationship. We’ll be using the versatile Storm at Sea pattern to learn my “No More Tears”© method of paper piecing. Although we won’t be finishing the entire project in class, you’ll have at least one full block, and the tools you’ll need to finish it at home, in half the time you’d expect from paper piecing. Don’t believe me?  You’ll just have to come and see for yourself!
