Presidents Message:

Hello Ladies,

Well, we did it! We put on one of the most spectacular quilt shows ever! Many comments were made of which I heard several times, comparing our show to The Vermont Quilt show. That is quite a compliment. However, we could not have done this without your help and determination to make this the best show. There were learning curves, but we got it. There is already a committee determined to put together a YouTube video demonstrating how to put the metal racks together. So, we will gain more knowledge as we go along. Joan Potter will stay on as Co-Chair of the quilt show but will need someone to Co-Chair with her. Please let me know if this is an opportunity you are willing to tackle.

Our Treasurer, Blaire Gagnon, has served us well for the past four years and will stay with us for another year but she will need someone to come on board with her in January so she can mentor whoever volunteers to take over her position. A basic knowledge of QuickBooks is appreciated but if you do not have that skillset she will teach you. Another terrific opportunity to expand your skillset! Also, if you have any questions regarding the budget please be so kind as to submit your questions to either myself or Blaire and we will read your questions and responses into the minutes at the next meeting. [email protected]

I will be staying on for another year and hope to concentrate on Programs (since we will not have a quilt show). We need your input as far as what you would like to learn. The going trend in the quilting world right now is quilters are utilizing the internet to enhance their skills. However, we still want to continue with in-person workshops when we can, but we need to make them either profitable or an even wash. Please let me know your thoughts. [email protected]

Now, let us celebrate our success and have the best summer ever.

Best regards,
Gail Macera
